Who we are.
Onward Industries is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that brings the best storytellers in the world together and turns them loose on a generational opportunity: Restoring the health of our oceans.

The engine of our work is our network of storytellers. We define storytellers as those working in any facet of film & TV, documentary, journalism, brand & creative services, events, and the arts. These are the people whose work inspires, informs, and motivates, the people who know how to get a message across and move an audience to take action. They are a critical force of planetary action and change.

We support and mobilize storytellers across a variety of disciplines and backgrounds so they can create beneficial work that helps the planet.

We go where the action is. Much of our work takes place aboard a WWII minesweeper converted into a wind-powered expedition boat and story lab. We use the vessel to provide logistical and media support for scientific expeditions, to run retreats and intensives empowering creative professionals to create an impact, and to guide a new generation of storytellers in finding their voices and power.
