Why should kids have all the fun???

Join us for a fun and immersive retreat in an island paradise aboard a luxurious sailboat. Led by marine biologist Jordan Chancellor, we’ll be heading to one of California’s Channel Islands and a true marine wonderland for a summer camp-like adventure that brings you up close and personal with a remarkable marine environment.

We’ll depart Marina del Rey and anchor in a picturesque cove on the undeveloped west end of Catalina Island. The all-inclusive 4 day, 3 night trip includes delicious meals, one-of-a-kind accommodations, and plenty of time to explore, goof off, and interact with nature in a relaxed, playful, and encouraging setting. Guided marine science expeditions are mixed with plenty of unstructured time to goof off, hike, kayak and create.

This trip is for anyone who wants a vacation that inspires curiosity, learning, and meaningful interaction with positive people in a remarkable place. Inspiration and energy guaranteed.

What:

Marine science expeditions and demonstrations are mixed with shore trips by dinghy to explore the island and outdoors activities to encourage creativity and new friendships. Plenty of unstructured time to relax, read, converse, and create. All meals included, plus a dinner meet & greet and safety orientation on the boat approximately a week prior to departure.

No sailing or marine science experience required, just a positive attitude and a collaborative spirit.

Partial scholarships are available — proceed to registration form and fill out ‘scholarship’ field. Or consider our community barter program to cover part of the cost.

TENTATIVE ITINERARY

1-2 weeks before departure: Join us on the boat leading up to the trip (date tbd) for meet-and-greet, orientation, and safety briefing. Dinner provided.
Day 1: Departure! Arrive at the boat at 8:00 A.M. for early departure. The trip to Catalina is ~4.5 hrs.
Day 1-3: Guided fun, creative & marine science exercises, shore trips, free time. All meals provided. No two trips are identical.
Day 4: Depart island and arrive back in Marina del Rey @ 4PM (16:00) to disembark.

HOW TO JOIN

To register, complete the Onward Trip Registration by clicking here or pressing the ‘Register Now’ button below. You'll be asked to complete the form — make sure you hit submit. Indicate 2024: Field Trip for Grownups as your preferred trip.

Once we receive your registration, we ask for 50% of the balance, due immediately. The final 50% of the balance will be due 15 days prior to the departure date. Terms and conditions are in the registration form, please read carefully before submitting your deposit.
