Here’s the dealio … we have an awesome rustic basecamp on Catalina, which is the nonprofit’s headquarters for community, education, retreats, and adventure. The space is amazing … and it needs lots of care, upkeep, and improvement!
Our Barn Raising! weekends are fun-filled, wholesome ways to give back while making new friends and becoming part of the Onward community.

The plan:
Get a great volunteer crew together and head out to Cat Harbor for a weekend of shared purpose, belly laughs, yummy food, and lots of dreamy community time. We may also have a marine biologist aboard (or a breathwork teacher, artist, storyteller …). In short: SUPER FUN WEEKEND!
Folks will either head over on Lindy, our WWII era vessel, or via the Catalina Express ferry (tix ~$94 round-trip, purchased separately). If you have your own boat, please raise a hand and consider anchoring or grabbing a ball in Cat Harbor. Flotillas are tons of fun!
Suggested donation:
To cover expenses for the weekend (food, cooking and generator fuel, work materials & PPE) and support the nonprofit we’re ask for a small contribution of $110 per person. More = awesomerrrrr and if you’d like to donate you can do so at checkout.
BUT … we also do not want this to be prohibitive. If it’s not a good time for a cash donation, or if you’ve recently donated to Onward, please pay what you can or join us cost free. No guilt!
Food:
We’ll provide breakfasts and dinners. You bring your own lunch, snacks, and beverages.
Example Schedule:
Thurs: Arrive at boat at 8am, Depart MDR by 9am.
Thurs-Sun: Barn raising awesomeness
Sun: Raise Anchor by 10am, back home around 3:30pm
